Koyoharu Gotōge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga is inspiring a feature anime film that will open in Japan on October 16. The staff of the anime unveiled a new visual for the film on Monday that features the main cast. The new tagline on the image asks, “What path will you take?”
The image features Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, and Obanai Iguro of the Demon Slayer Corps. behind them are Nezuko Kamado, Shinobu Kocho, Giyū Tomioka, and Kyojuro Rengoku.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba premiered in Weekly Shōnen Jump on February 15, 2016, and the manga has more than 20 million copies in circulation as of June 18. Viz Media licensed the manga for an English release and it describes the story:
“In Japanese-occupied Korea during World War II, a young girl named Choi Eun-hee is kidnapped by Japanese soldiers and taken to Japan to appear in propaganda films. Her younger sister Lee Geum-hee is also captured but manages to escape and eventually makes her way to Hollywood where she meets celebrated director Chaplin who casts her in one of his films.”
