The Chucky Movies Ranked

If you’re looking for a horror movie that will make you laugh and scream, the Chucky movies are definitely for you. These movies follow the story of a doll that comes to life and goes on a killing spree. But which movie is the scariest? We’ve ranked all of the Chucky movies from least to most scary, so you can decide which one you want to watch first.

Child’s Play (1988)
The first Chucky movie is definitely the least scary. It’s more of a black comedy than a horror movie, and it’s clear that the franchise was still finding its footing. If you’re looking for a good laugh, this is the movie for you. But if you’re looking to be scared, you might want to skip it.

Child’s Play 2 (1990)
The sequel is a bit scarier than the first movie, but it still doesn’t hold up to some of the later films in the franchise. It does have some truly creepy moments, however, including a scene where Chucky brings two kids’ dead bodies to life.

Child’s Play 3 (1991)
The third installment in the franchise is where things start to get really scary. Chucky is more vicious than ever before, and he has his sights set on Andy, the kid who destroyed him in the first movie. This film also has one of the most iconic death scenes in horror movie history.

Bride of Chucky (1998)
The fourth Chucky movie took things in a new direction by adding comedy elements to the mix. But don’t let that fool you — this film is still plenty scary. If anything, it’s even more frightening because it’s not entirely clear what Chucky is capable of. Is he just a doll that wants to kill people, or is he something more? Either way, he’s definitely not someone you want to mess with.

Seed of Chucky (2004)
The fifth movie in the franchise takes things even further into comedic territory. But while it may not be as scary as some of the other films, it’s still one of the most entertaining installments in the series. It’s also notable for featuring Brad Dourif’s real-life daughter as his character’s on-screen daughter.

Curse of Chucky (2013)
The sixth installment in the franchise returned things to their roots with a darker, more serious tone. And while it may not be as funny as some of the other films, it’s definitely one of the scariest. From start to finish, this film is packed with jump scares and suspenseful moments. If you’re looking for a good scare, this is the film for you
